Privacy Policy

Nardy is a backgammon and Long Narde game for iPhone made by Artem Novichkov ("I", "me"). This policy explains what the app collects and why. Nardy has no accounts and never asks for your name, email, contacts, photos or location.

Usage analytics

To learn how the app is used and make it better, Nardy sends anonymous usage events to PostHog, hosted in the European Union. Events describe actions in the app, for example:

  • a game started or finished, its variant, opponent level and result;
  • hints used, pages and settings opened, themes chosen, cards shared;
  • the paywall shown, a purchase or restore attempted and its outcome;
  • reminders offered, delivered and opened.

Each event comes with a random identifier created on your device, and basic device and app details such as device model, iOS version, app version, language and whether Apple Intelligence is available.

This data is not linked to your identity and is not used to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies. IP addresses are discarded and not used to determine your location. I don't sell this data.

Data stored on your iPhone

Your stats, levels, streaks, achievements, settings and an unfinished game are stored only on your device. Deleting the app deletes them, together with the analytics identifier.

On-device intelligence

With Apple Intelligence, the computer opponent's remarks and reminder texts are generated on your iPhone by Apple's on-device model. Nothing is sent to a server for this.

Notifications

Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your iPhone. No push service is used. You can turn them off in the app's Settings or in iOS Settings.

Apple services

  • Game Center. If you're signed in, achievements are reported to Game Center. Apple processes this data under Apple's Privacy Policy.
  • Purchases. Nardy Pro is bought through the App Store. Apple handles payment, and I never see your payment details.

Sharing

When you share a card after a game, it's an image you send through the iOS share sheet to an app of your choice. Nardy doesn't upload it anywhere.

Children

Nardy doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
